RELISH
2026

to enjoy something greatly; anticipate pleasure

RELISH explores how objects can influence the way we interact with food. While eating is something we do every day, many of the gestures that surround it happen unconsciously. We rarely pay attention to how we hold, dip, touch, or bring food to our mouths, even though these actions shape our experience of eating.

Through a collection of wearable eating objects developed in glass and ceramic, Relish reimagines dining as a more tactile, playful, and bodily experience. The objects encourage alternative ways of interacting with food, inviting curiosity, touch, and experimentation while drawing attention to the relationship between body, object, and food.

SAVOUR
2025

to enjoy something slowly and fully

Savour rethinks eating by focusing on the scale of a single bite, transforming consumption into a deliberate, multisensory interaction. Through designed objects and gestures, the project explores how texture, movement, and anticipation shape the experience of flavour. By slowing the act of eating, Savour shifts attention to the body and its role in tasting. It proposes eating as an intentional ritual rather than an automatic habit.

WANNA HAVE FOOD?
2024turning every bite into an experience

"Wannahave Food?" is a collection of playful, sensory-enhanced eating tools for adults who are open to interactive, sensory experiences with food, designed to transform dining into a joyful, memorable experience.

Would You Like to Meet?
2024Inspired by a volunteer experience aboard an immigrant boat, this napkin set explores how visuals can bridge language barriers. Inspired by shared meals among 350 people from different backgrounds, the project uses imagery as a universal language to spark communication and connection at the table.

Rewoven
2023This project explores the potential of lightweight plastic citrus nets, often discarded as waste, by recycling and transforming them into wearable products. Reimagining an overlooked material, it challenges perceptions of value and highlights how sustainability begins with seeing potential in the ordinary.

About

Hi, I’m Jasmin Ozturkkan Menda, a passionate product designer from Turkey, Istanbul, based in Arnhem, the Netherlands. I love to work with colors, shapes, and textures. For me, design is more than creating objects; it’s about telling stories and sparking meaningful connections. I’m particularly fascinated by the role food plays in bringing people together, serving as a universal language that breaks barriers and encourages connection.

Much of my work explores the intersection of food and design. I enjoy creating concepts and experiences that celebrate the sensory and social aspects of eating. Whether it’s how a specific texture feels to the touch or how vibrant colors can transform a moment, I aim to design with intention, curiosity, and a sense of playfulness.

I believe food is more than sustenance; it’s an icebreaker, a medium for storytelling, and an opportunity to connect with others on a deeper level. My approach to design reflects this belief, focusing on creating experiences that are not only functional but also memorable, inspiring, and joyful.
